Those that row, know that rowing develops the important life skills of self-discipline, focus and commitment. It develops physical and mental strength and all–round wellbeing. Rowers put traditional sporting values far above commercial gain and for many, rowing is far more than a physical experience, when rowers talk, it becomes clear that rowing has a soul.
Rowing is the body and mind working in harmony with the boat which is why the launch of a new boat at Stowe School on Tuesday 13th September is of special interest to Celaton. This particular boat is called ‘instream1′ and it was donated to the Stowe School Rowing team by Celaton.
With the exceptional coaching provided by staff, the rowing team has been making a name for itself recently. James Rudkin became the first stoic to row at Henley and win the Prince of Wales Challenge Cup. He then went on to win two gold medals at the European Junior championships in Austria. The teams success has been achieved despite the fact that it has borrowed boats from a local rowing club to compete in regatta’s.
instream1 is the latest in modern technology and will hopefully be the first of many new boats that will propel the Stowe School Rowing team to even greater success. You can follow instream1 at www.instream1.com and on Facebook.
